Story Time

Hi! My name is Ellyn, but El or Ellsy to most. I was born and bred in Launceston, Tasmania, and spent many years travelling and living in Whistler, Canada, where I fell in love with snowboarding, hiking, and a beautiful human named Ryan. Moving then to Newcastle for 3 years my partner and I decided we wanted to be closer to nature again and live a little slower, and decided to move back to my home island. We now live in the cute A-frame shack that my family and I were lucky enough to spend the majority of my childhood holidays at in Binalong Bay. We really do live in one of the most beautiful parts of Tasmania! If you haven’t heard of Binalong Bay or Bay of Fires, have a Google or check out my blog!

With a background in interior design and styling, and after having the opportunity to be a guest at a pop-up picnic during my time in Newcastle, I decided to bring the experience to the Bay of Fires. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a special occasion than celebrating with a group of friends or a loved one, dining outside in nature, sitting barefoot on some comfy pillows, and enjoying the most glorious view. I love setting up my picnics, styling them to clients’ tastes, serving Tasmania’s best produce and I can't help but tear up during every proposal picnic I create!

When I’m not setting up picnics, I’ll be working in my bookkeeping role, designing websites, hiking, running, doing pilates, or planning our next adventure. Thanks for reading and I hope to see you at a picnic soon!
